Open Research Steering Committee 18 April 2024 A vacancy has arisen for a postdoctoral representative from an Arts, Humanities or Social Science discipline to join the Open Research Steering Committee. The term of office will be two years renewable and the postdoc must be employed by the University of Cambridge. Recent discussions by the committee have included: publishing monographs open access, open research in the humanities, open qualitative research and responsible use of metrics in research and researcher assessment. There is a particular interest in exploring open research across the different disciplines. The next meeting will take place on the 23 May.
University Public Engagement Advisory Group  6 May 2024

Are you passionate about public engagement and keen to share your views and expertise to help shape public engagement at Cambridge? Post-Doctoral representatives from the School of Biological Sciences and the School of Technology are needed to join the University’s Public Engagement Advisory Group. The Group drives the development and implementation of the University’s public engagement strategy and identifies priorities for public engagement support and activity. Members help promote public engagement and the support offered by the central team and report back to the Group on activity taking place in their School. They can contribute their skills and expertise to training and support the assessment of public engagement starter grants and awards. The group, chaired by the Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research, meets three times a year and reports annually to the Research Policy Committee. Members serve two-year terms.

These committees provide a platform for the communication of ideas and mutual concerns, and for the coordination of postdoc activities.
