Postdoc Academy

The Postdoc Centre @ Eddington is the University’s flagship Postdoc Centre, purpose-built in 2017 as the first of its kind in the country.

It provides a permanent space for postdocs at the heart of the University’s newest, intellectually vibrant community.

Hot-desking

A quiet working space for postdocs to hot-desk.

We have now reopened our hot-desking space to postdocs, on a trial basis and with limited capacity. Your patience and understanding is appreciated as we look to do this in a safe manner alongside our team returning to the workplace.

Slots will be made available weekly and must be booked at least one working day in advance, after completion of a short online induction.

There are four desks available, which can be booked in 45-minute slots. You can book a maximum of two slots a day to give as many postdocs as possible the chance to use the space. The days on which hot-desking is available may vary week by week.

Hot-desking spaces can be booked here

Event Spaces

Bookable spaces for events including a small meeting room with hybrid meeting technology, a multi-function room and a large, versatile seminar hall.

The Postdoc Centre is available to postdocs for events related to their professional development. This may include research seminars, postdoc committee meetings and training events.

The Postdoc Academy also encourages the use of the spaces for networking events that bring together the postdoc community.

Please be aware that in light of the pandemic, we are only accepting a limited number of room bookings at this time. Thank you for your understanding. Bookings can be requested here.

For regular access to the Postdoc Centre @ Eddington you must complete a Health & Safety induction. Please email  with your name, CRSid and department to register for an induction.
