Do you want fresh insight into your next career step? Have you ever wondered what advice a senior colleague who isn’t formally connected to you would give?
This is your opportunity! Join this Virtual Academic Speed Mentoring event, designed to give you practical, targeted advice in just two hours.
You’ll meet with four experienced academics - each for 15-minute, 1:1 conversations - all online, all focused on you, offering you support and new perspectives on a career goal or challenge.
Why take part?
- Get help with addressing a particular career development challenge.
- Increase your confidence through short, focused conversations.
- Build a support network outside your own team or work area to draw on in the future.
This session is being run in collaboration across the Universities of Bath, Cambridge, Kent, Oxford, Oxford Brookes, and Sussex and King’s College London. If offered a place, you will have the opportunity to participate in speed mentoring sessions with academics from a selection of the participating institutions.
One of last year's mentees said: "This was an incredibly valuable session. It was great to have the time and space to really think about what I wanted/needed to ask/gather input on and to hear a range of perspectives from different mentors."
The event will take place online on Monday 20 October, 13:00 - 15:00. Spaces are limited so you must apply to attend by 14:00 on Tuesday 30 September.
