University of Liverpool "Making an Impact 2021"

10 May - 11 June

The University of Liverpool has just launched Making an Impact 2021, their flagship series of development opportunities designed to support and enhance research impact in all its forms. They have opened some of the sessions to external attendees from partner institutions, including Cambridge.

Sessions are designed around the Making an Impact 2021 Framework which has the KEF (Knowledge Exchange Framework) perspectives at its core.

All sessions are linked to online resources that will continue to be made available beyond the event on the open access Making an Impact resource pages.

 

Key sessions that are open to Cambridge researchers include:

  • An interactive keynote on Making University -Company partnerships pay off by Prof Matt Reed (Strategy Director for the Materials Innovation Factory at the UoL) on Friday 14th May (9.30am-10.30am). Participants will also get the chance to engage with UoL business and Impact development staff and other academics who have worked successfully worked with industry.
  • Has business finally woken up to climate change? by Dr Charlotte Grezo (Senior sustainability roles in major multinational companies including BP, Vodafone, Lehman Brothers and Centrica) and Dr Leah Robson ( co-Director of whole house renewables company Your Energy Your Way on Mon 17th May (1.00-2.00pm)
  • Making a civic impact in innovation, culture, and the economy, a panel discussion with James Coe (Senior Policy Advisor, UoL), Prof Dinah Birch (Pro Vice Chancellor for Cultural Engagement, UoL) and Prof Fiona Beveridge (Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, UoL) on Thurs 10th June (9.30-10.30am)
  • Where can my research take me? by Dr Julie Torode, Director of Special Projects for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) on Thurs 10th June (11.30-12.30pm)
