As a researcher you need to be aware of the tools required for your research and where you can go to develop your knowledge and skills.

This could cover a range of skill types including experimental techniques, effective literature searching, use of databases and technical software, and understanding the appropriate experimental design and statistical tools to use for your work.

Additionally, the pursuit of excellent research and the fulfilment of your responsibilities to participants in research, research users and the wider community require the maintenance of the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

 

Bioinformatics Training Facility

The Bioinformatics Training Facility of the School of Biological Sciences organises high-quality, hands-on training courses in bioinformatics and computational biology, targeting all audiences and they also offer more specialised training courses.

Cambridge Statistics Clinic

The Cambridge Statistics Clinic offers free statistical consulting services to all university members.

Clinic sessions happen fortnightly during term time and around once a month outside of term time.

University Information Services

Online materials are accessible and these have been greatly expanded by curated and recommended content.

Office of Scholarly Communication – Research Skills Training

In collaboration with colleagues from across Cambridge University Libraries, the Office of Scholarly Communication offer online training for early career researchers.

The Researcher Development team have curated and recommended relevant content on research expertise.

Research Strategy Office - Research Integrity and Ethics

The pursuit of excellent research and the fulfilment of our responsibilities to participants in research, research users and the wider community require the maintenance of the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

The Research Strategy Office provides guidance and training on issues of research integrity, research ethics and good research practice.
