Postdoc Academy

Postdocs, or early career researchers, are crucial for the University’s world-class research and a vital part of the University community.

There are around 4,000 postdocs working in Cambridge, of which 3,000 are employed directly by the University and approximately 1,000 are employed by the Colleges, University Partner Institutes, or funded by external fellowships.

They make up more than 30% of total University staff and they are the fastest growing staff group.

They are also the most diverse staff group by nationality, coming to Cambridge from over 95 countries around the world.

This is an exciting community to be part of and there are a number of groups who can help you and your family to settle in, build a social network and get involved with the life of the University.
